“We should expect businesses and corporations to help make the world a better, nicer place. I feel that I, and our company, Sunway have an onus to use our platform of skills and talents to help develop people and places who haven’t had the same good fortune as we have.  I am delighted to play a small part, with G Adventures, of helping them with their social enterprise work. We can all make an impact in terms of working conditions, human rights, health, the environment, innovation, education and training and Sunway are delighted to do so”.
I am proud to be fundraising for Planeterra Foundation. For more information please visit www.planeterra.org.
Goal: £3,000 or $5000 CAD

Born into a family immersed in travel and business, Tanya Airey was encouraged at a young age to develop her entrepreneurship skills. Deciding to learn the business from the ground up, she joined Sunway in 1984 under the guidance of her aunt, Madeline Kilbride. Her vision was to make travel easier and more accessible for Irish people by introducing new destinations, levels of service and lower prices.
Assessing the current market and moving the company forward has been a key part of Tanya’s success as MD and now in her new role as Executive Chairman. She has overseen the growth and development of new products, new markets, new sales channels and new ways of talking to customers. The changes have been radical but have led to the continued success of Sunway. The only constant has been the high level of customer care.
Sunway is now in business  53 years, Tanya has taken the company to a new level and positioned its future growth and innovation.
Tanya Airey is a familiar face in the travel industry. She has appeared on national and regional media including Sunday Independent, Irish Times, RTE Radio’s business show, numerous TV shows on both RTE and Virgin Media including Ireland AM and many more.
Recognised for her unique leadership and entrepreneurial skills, Tanya Airey now employs over 60  people in Dublin. She still believes that creativity and innovation in business are crucial.
Tanya enjoys golf, tennis, reading and of course, travel. Married to Philip and with their three adult children, Tanya enjoys family time too. She believes and acts in a responsible way to her employees and community and is a constant fund raiser for causes close to her heart.
