Cuyo Chico community – Sacred Valley -Cusco, Peru

When Tinkuy Turismo Comunitario had to leave the space where its 12 member families had worked for years, the association faced a difficult decision: continue moving between rented spaces or build something of its own.

With contributions from the families themselves, support from G Adventures and funding from Planeterra, Tinkuy was able to purchase land and build a permanent space for its Community Tourism activities.

Today, the new space gives the association greater security and room to grow, with plans for new cultural and educational activities, improved visitor facilities and opportunities to welcome more travellers.
