Community Tourism Network

A Network where communities share knowledge and expand opportunities through Community Tourism.

It brings together community organizations, social enterprises, nonprofits, cooperatives, and local initiatives using tourism to strengthen livelihoods, celebrate culture, protect and regenerate nature, and advance the priorities communities set for themselves. Members gain access to the training, mentoring, business support, funding, and peer network that help them build stronger enterprises and keep creating local opportunity long into the future.

Why Join the
Network?

    LEARNING & MENTORING. Practical courses, webinars, business support, and tools through the Planeterra Learning Hub, covering experience design, pricing, marketing, storytelling, partnerships, and more.

  • KEEP GROWING. Deepen your knowledge, build relationships with peers, and access opportunities as they arise.

Am I Eligible?

Open to organizations using tourism to create positive social, cultural, environmental,
or economic outcomes, at any stage of their journey.

YOU ARE ELIGIBLE IF:

  • You’re a community-owned enterprise, cooperative, social enterprise, nonprofit organization, Indigenous-owned tourism business, or community association
  • You operate, or are actively developing, a tourism initiative
  • Your tourism initiative supports community priorities
  • You have internet access
  • At least one person on your team communicates in English or Spanish
  • You’re willing to commit to Planeterra’s Responsible Tourism policies

For-profit social enterprises, including family-owned businesses, must answer additional questions about their mission and use of profits. Programming runs mainly in English and Spanish, with Learning Hub content available through browser translation and specialist support also available in Albanian, Arabic, Brazilian Portuguese, French, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Thai, and Turkish.
