G Adventures is passionate about creating happiness and community for their staff, travellers, and the communities we work with across the globe. On International Day of Happiness we will be dancing for 24 hours – starting in New Zealand and ending in Vancouver. Hundreds of dancers are coming together to raise funds for Planeterra’s Project 100 campaign.
Planeterra is G Adventures’ nonprofit partner. Planeterra is a non-profit that works to turn travel into impact by helping local communitites earn an income from responsible tourism. Planeterra is working to complete Project 100 (having 100 Planeterra Projects in G Adventures travel itineraries) by the end of 2020! These projects provide women, youth and rural communities with an opportunity to gain new skills, earn an income, celebrate their unique cultures and protect their environments through tourism.
Planeterra’s work benefits 4 main beneficiaries: women, at-risk youth, rural & indigenous communities, and natural environments. More than 59,000 people spanning 51 countries are able to access healthcare, education, and basic needs for their families as a result of Planeterra’s work.
