Why he is climbing Kilimanjaro:
As Chairman and Trustee of the Thomas Cook Children’s Charity, I have the privilege, together with the other Trustees for allocating hundreds of thousands of pounds every year to worthy causes both here in the UK and across the globe. The aim of the Thomas Cook Children’s Charity is to improve children’s lives and benefit the communities in which they live. Funds are raised by Thomas Cook customers, employees and suppliers who all help to generate up to £1m per annum towards some great causes. We support a variety of smaller community projects as well as larger national and international projects, and previously these have included: Alder Hey Children’s Hospital; the Indonesian Tsunami Appeal; SOS Children’s Villages; and Just a Drop. In 2018, the Thomas Cook Children’s Charity partnered with Children in Need awarding them a larger donation of £500,000 towards four key projects relating to Mental Health and Wellbeing for children across the UK.
I am looking forward to working with Planeterra , G Adventures’ nominated non- profit partner, with the aim of helping them to develop and support new social enterprise projects around the world. I have always believed that it is my duty and responsibility to support those in greatest need and I am thrilled to raise funds personally for Planeterra with my climb of Kilimanjaro.
Goal: £ 50,000 or $83,000
